Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy
Effective Date: 25th February 2025
Reviewed Annually

1. Statement of Commitment
Handmade Bradford-on-Avon is fully committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in all areas of our business and supply chains. We support the aims of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and uphold the highest standards of human rights, labour practices, and ethical sourcing.
Although we are a small, volunteer-led organisation, we recognise our responsibility to act ethically and with integrity in all our relationships.
2. Our Business
We are a community-focused shop in Bradford on Avon, selling locally handmade goods and offering creative workshops. Our products are sourced directly from local artists and makers, and we maintain close working relationships with all contributors.
3. Our Supply Chain
We aim to work only with individuals and suppliers who uphold fair labour standards. Our supply chain is short and local, which allows us to be confident that all products are produced without the use of forced labour, child labour, or human trafficking.
If we do source goods from external providers (e.g. art materials or packaging), we endeavour to choose suppliers who share our ethical standards and provide clear statements regarding their compliance with modern slavery legislation.
4. Policies and Due Diligence
To prevent modern slavery, we commit to:
- Maintaining transparency in our operations and supply chains
- Asking suppliers to confirm they meet fair labour standards
- Avoiding any commercial relationships where modern slavery or exploitation is suspected
- Promoting awareness of modern slavery among our volunteers and contributors
5. Volunteer Awareness and Training
All volunteers involved in procurement, partnerships, or event planning will be made aware of the signs of modern slavery and how to raise concerns. Although formal training may not be required at our scale, we encourage ethical vigilance and responsibility across our team.
6. Reporting Concerns
If any staff member, volunteer, or partner suspects a case of modern slavery or unethical practice linked to our business, they are encouraged to report it confidentially to the directors at 📧 info@handmadeboa.co.uk. We will investigate and take appropriate action.
7. Review and Updates
This policy will be reviewed annually and updated as needed to reflect best practices and legal developments.
