Join Us

At the moment, we are only considering applications from makers who can volunteer in the shop for 12 hours per month.

Artists interested in exhibiting in The Gallery are very welcome to get in touch as we maintain a waiting list for 2027.

There are several ways you can join us:

• As a maker - if you make items that make great gifts, we will display your makes in our Gift Shop. Please upload examples of your work.

• As a resident artist - the work of our resident artists is displayed in The Gallery. Their work is on permanent display, and we sell their merchandise (where applicable) in The Gift Shop, and their cards in The Card Room. Please upload examples of your work.

• As a guest exhibitor - from February to October we host exhibitions by local artists in our window exhibition space. Applications are considered by our gallery team, made up of three resident artists. Click here to find out more.

Good to know



We charge a commission on sales, with rates ranging from 30% to 45%, depending on whether you volunteer and the type of arrangement you have with us. Lower commission rates apply to volunteers. We charge all artists and makers a monthly fee of £15, payable by standing order.

We encourage artists and makers to avoid ultra-low-cost mass-produced components wherever possible, and to consider the environmental and ethical impact of the materials they use.

We celebrate original handmade work created by artists and makers who live in our area. For this reason, we do not accept submissions of artwork or products generated wholly or substantially using artificial intelligence (AI).
