This two hour workshop is an introduction to the art of fused glass. You’ll be shown how to make your own art piece(s) by expert tutor, fused glass artist Pj Buchanan of Skydog Glass. No experience is required, all materials and tools are provided. All materials are pre-cut. Minimum age is 11, all under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. The maximum class size is 8, if you are a larger party please to contact us to discuss your requirements
Please wear closed toe shoes.
Materials:
You will be given a piece of fusible glass measuring 20cms x 10cms. From that you can make the following:
One panel 20cms x 10cms. This can be placed in a frame (not provided) or slumped into a wave form to make a free standing ornament for a window sill
Two 10cms x 10cms pieces to make
Two ‘hanky’ style tea light holders
Two panels that can be placed in a frame (not provided)
Two hanging window decorations
Two free standing window ornaments after being slumped over a curve form
A mix of any of the above
Two 20cms x 5cms suncatchers
What happens on the day?
The tutor will explain health and safety requirements, introduce you to the tools you will be using and will explain what fused glass is and how it is made. You will shown the types of glass available to you, after which you’ll have plenty time to design and assemble your piece.
What happens afterwards?
Your artwork will be transported to Pj’s studio where it will be fired. It can be collected one week after the course, or it can be sent to you for a small additional charge.
